THNGS keeps what you save on your own devices. There are no ads, no tracking and no analytics, and we don't sell or share your data.
What THNGS stores, and where
- On your iPhone: the links, notes, photos and screenshots you save, and what THNGS works out about them (titles, summaries, categories, your labels, to-dos).
- In your iCloud (only if you turn on iCloud sync): the same library, in your private iCloud account. We can't see it.
- On your own server (only if you connect a Home Server): your library syncs with the server you run. It stays between your devices and your server.
Reading and sorting
To understand a link, THNGS on your iPhone opens the page you saved, the way a browser would. Sorting uses Apple's AI on your iPhone; for long pages it may use Apple's Private Cloud Compute, which Apple runs so that your data isn't stored or seen by anyone. Your own server, if you connect one, uses its own AI.
Things you choose to send
“Ask another AI” opens the app or site you pick (for example ChatGPT) with the THNG, only when you tap it. Actions you set up (for example sending a THNG to a web address, Telegram, Discord, Slack, email, Reminders or Calendar) send that THNG only when you ask, only to where you chose.
Purchases
Purchases are handled by Apple. We don't receive your payment details.
Permissions
Camera (to take photos you save, and to scan the code that connects your server), notifications (to-do reminders and price drops), Reminders and Calendar (only for the Actions that add to them). You can turn each off in Settings.
Deleting your data
Delete a THNG in the app and it's gone from your iPhone (and your iCloud and server, if connected). Deleting the app removes everything stored on the iPhone.
Children
THNGS isn't directed at children under 13.
